Caesarean Romans

I painted these Warlord Games plastic Caesarean Romans some weeks ago. There is material for several posts but in the end I decided all to go in one.  I found them easy to paint and I enjoyed it a lot. The scorpion and the command group wearing the pegasus standard are metal miniatures. I have included a comparison picture with another three Romans from other companies. Left to right: Aventine, Warlord Games, Foundry and Wargames Factory.

  1. Thanks for the size comparison shot, Andres, looks like they are very much compatible with Foundry! I shall buy a box. Very nice painting, too.

  2. Thanks Simon. The could match with Foundry's ones. They are a bit slimmer/taller, but if you use them in different units that would be ok.

    Cheers.

Looks like they're a bit taller than their later counterparts.

  4. Exceptional painting as always. That leopard skin is particularly impressive. I've not seen this done before for Romans - so very striking indeed. Best, Dean

Maybe they ate better during the Republic... older times are always better, you know... :)

    Cheers.
